Farm-to-Table Treasures Serve Up Gourmet Garden-Fresh Gems 6

Locally grown goodness served in style

Numerous local farms delight in sharing their bounties through farm-to-table efforts throughout Malibu, Pacific Palisades and surrounding areas. These sustainable endeavors share common ideals, such as serving dishes made with organic produce grown by farmers in their own backyards. Many pride themselves on sourcing their ingredients from local ranchers and fishermen who practice sustainable agriculture.

Here’s a glimpse of several local farm-to-table treasures you’ll definitely want to check out:

This locally-owned business prides itself on “super simply prepared” food made with mostly wheat flours and whole grains, veggies and fruits. Items served directly from the farm include eggs, persimmons, figs, lemons, pomegranates, apricots, Asian pears, carrots, beets, asparagus and fresh herbs. Malibu Farms also buys items, such as strawberries, oranges, kale, chard, basil and tomatoes, from farmer Larry Thorne of the Thorne Family Farm; and potatoes and carrots from Weiser Farms. All arugula and lettuces come from Maggie’s Farm. The Malibu Farm Café is a casual counter service restaurant offering indoor and outdoor seating, and the Malibu Farm Restaurant is a full-service restaurant with a full bar.
