Beverly Hills Physician Strives to Empower Patients

As a Medical Doctor, Christopher Asandra believes it’s vital to always be evolving—because science and technology are constantly evolving.

“It’s very easy for medical professionals to grow complacent and comfortable, but that doesn’t serve any patient well,” says Dr. Asandra. “The human body is complicated, and some cases are subsequently complicated—you have to think outside the box.”

As the Beverly Hills-based vitality expert behind NuMale Medical Center and NuFemme Rejuvenation Clinic, his goal is to empower people and improve their sense of well-being, not just for themselves, but for those around them as well.

“My goal is to provide the tools that people need to live the life they’ve always envisioned,” he says. “What we do is not a cure-all; it’s a means to a beautiful end if you’re willing to put in the work as well.”

To that end, AsandraMD, the newly branded offshoot of the successful nationwide health clinics, offers a very personalized approach and private experience.

“You’ll never spend time in the waiting room or run into other patients,” Dr. Asandra says. “And this is very important to many people who aren’t comfortable revealing that they’re on hormone replacement, or seeking help for sexual wellness issues, such as erectile dysfunction for men or painful intercourse for women due to the effects of menopause.”

Additionally, it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach to the actual treatments.

“Each patient is unique, and they’re treated as such,” Dr. Asandra emphasizes. “You meet directly with me, and are listened to.”

One of the most popular services he offers is bio-identical hormone replacement—these hormones are plant-based and are molecule for molecule the same as the ones our body produces.

“And when it comes to what we specialize in, bio-identical hormone replacement, nothing will be done prior to obtaining the patient’s blood work to see exactly what’s going on with their body.”

Unfortunately, that’s not the case everywhere else, “which is concerning,” Dr. Asandra says. “Once you’re on hormones, you will be monitored routinely with checkups and additional blood work, also something that unfortunately doesn’t take place everywhere else.”

His preferred method of treatment is in the form of pellet therapy.

“The pellets are comparable in size to a grain of rice and are inserted between the fat and muscle in the gluteus,” Dr. Asandra explains. “This provides a prolonged and sustained release of hormone, without the roller coaster effects that people experience with creams, gels and shots, as they’re needed to be applied daily or administered often.”

There are many benefits to bio-identical hormone replacement, he further emphasizes, including more energy, increased libido, an increase in lean muscle and decrease in fat—as well as feeling younger with an improved overall sense of well-being.

“It changes lives,” Dr. Asandra says. “People that have been suffering from years of fatigue, weight gain, mood swings, sexual dysfunction, hot flashes and night sweats for women dealing with menopause…are relieved—and fast.”

Another unique service is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, which is the method of extracting blood, spinning it down in a specialized centrifuge and extracting only the platelet-rich plasma which is rich in proteins called growth factors.

“This therapy has a wide range of usage, from PRP for aesthetics/facial rejuvenation, to doing the same on the scalp for hair growth, to injecting it into joints where injury has occurred,” Dr. Asandra explains. “In all cases, the natural growth factors of your own body, in a concentrated form, kick the desired area into a high gear of healing and overall rejuvenation. The results are pretty extraordinary.”

Above all, Dr. Asandra keeps the Golden Rule in mind with every patient.

“To treat others as you’d like to be treated,” he says. “To approach each patient as the individual they are, someone who is suffering and needs help. I take a great deal of pride in holding true to my Midwest roots, where people are good neighbors, they listen to each other and there’s a shared empathy.”

As far as the future is concerned, “we’re definitely looking to open up more clinics, possibly down in Orange County,” he adds. “But we’re busy now, helping people all over the country. I think the focus is really day to day, to take things as they come, and I think that’s the California way.”
